Grown amidst ancient forests at the foothills of the Himalayas, our Darjeeling green tea is revered as a herb.

This green tea was first developed in 2004 when Gyokuro Sensi Tokishaku Yamashita visited us in the Himalayas. This tea finds devoted connoisseurs in Japan, even though the country itself produces some of the finest Darjeeling Makaibari green teas in the world. Its unique balance of sweetness and astringency with notes of fresh corn, make it a favourite amongst tea drinkers in Tokyo. It is high in Orac values and may be taken through the day.

Tasting Notes: Delicate & fresh, earthy with hints of rice, corn.

Makaibari Estate: The iconic Makaibari estate in Darjeeling produces exceptional green tea. Select leaves are plucked from chosen organic tea bushes between June to November and delicately processed with no oxidation. An ode to Indian herbal healing traditions, this digestion friendly blend with a  quartet of four types of “Holy Basil” radiates with robust earthy tones of peppery yet floral Tulsi and the gentle undertones of “Adda” or ginger sourced from the Assam region of the Himalayas. Anchored in  perfectly plucked and tightly rolled Darjeeling Green leaf, this cup reveals the embodiment of digestive  healing balance in the steep.

Auspicious and sacred and celebrated for it’s healing, immunity boosting qualities, this root has been used ceremonially and in ayurvedic healing practices for over 4000 years. This vibrant orange root grounds this cup of tea in the same earthy sanctimony that it once dyed Buddhist robes and children's festive garb in its native land. This blend evokes the warmth of tradition and gratitude for the soil's bounty.

The valerian root also known as ‘sugandhbala’ in India grows on the  rolling hills and deep valleys of Kalimpong in the temperate Himalayas.
