Auspicious and sacred and celebrated for it’s healing, immunity boosting qualities, this root has been used ceremonially and in ayurvedic healing practices for over 4000 years. This vibrant orange root grounds this cup of tea in the same earthy sanctimony that it once dyed Buddhist robes and children's festive garb in its native land. The uniqueness of this Makaibari Darjeeling Black tea is in its creation - it is grown biodynamically - surrounded by forests that feed its flavour. It is then plucked ceremonially, to the tune of a cosmic calendar, dictated by the rhythms of the sun and the moon.
